Mechatronics Engineering

From concept to
working prototype.

Fe Studio is a mechatronics engineering consultancy specializing in electromechanical product development. We take your idea — however early-stage — and turn it into hardware that works. Mechanical design, electronics, firmware, controls, and system integration under one roof.

What we do

Concept Development

You have an idea and a problem to solve. We define the requirements, explore the solution space, and develop a design direction grounded in engineering reality.

Prototyping & System Integration

Mechanical design, custom actuator development, embedded systems, sensor fusion, and control systems — designed together as a complete system, not handed off between specialists.

Design for Manufacturability

Prototype validated and ready to scale? We can prepare your design for production, selecting materials, processes, and tolerances that balance cost and performance.

Analysis & Simulation

FEA, CFD, dynamic system modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, and controls analysis to de-risk designs before you cut metal.

Selected work

Robotic Musculoskeletal Simulators

Anatomically accurate robotic systems that replicate human joint behavior for training physical therapists and U.S. Army combat medics. Designed the full electromechanical system — anatomical structure, custom actuators, and control systems — and managed a team through manufacturing and delivery.

Rehabilitation & Industrial Exoskeletons

Novel electromechanical actuators for upper and lower body exoskeletons. Nonlinear control system design and simulation in MATLAB and Python, sensor fusion for intuitive wearer interaction, and full prototype fabrication and evaluation.

Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement

Core contributor to one of the world's first transcatheter mitral valve replacements at Abbott Laboratories. Invented solutions to critical nitinol fatigue failure modes, leading to two patent applications and successful early human clinical trials.

Low-Cost Oxygen Blender

A bCPAP-compatible oxygen blender assembled from standard hospital supplies, replacing $2,000+ commercial devices at a $5 material cost. Now in clinical use in hospitals in Cambodia, Nigeria, and Thailand.
